The plant is a ground covering type that does not get tall and spreads like mint or catnip, we lived in Mid Michigan (Lansing area) and the blooms were small and opened before your eyes after sunset, the were a white flower that would wilt before morning, I can't recall if they were particularly fragrant, but the plant itself was very dense, I have found Moonflowers (similar idea but too large) and evening primroses (bloom looks right but not the foliage)... anyone have any ideas?
I am searching for the name of a flower my neighbor had when I was a child... ?
could be four-o-clocks although they come in other colors beside white. They are annuals and come pretty much true to seed and kind of look like a moonflower( trumpet shaped.but a lot smaller.)Dont know if they would be a ground cover either but they do tend to lay over when the bush gets big..I am doubtful its what you are looking for but beside the plants you mentioned I cant think of anything else that is a night bloomer
