tiger lily
What is the name of the orange lily type flower that I see all along PA highways?
They are tiger lilies.
Reply:I think that is a Tiger Lily. They grow throughout most of the midwest and Southeast.
Reply:Probably not this time of year but I think it is a day lily
Reply:I live in Pa and have to tell you that there are two types of these lillies. The first have all orange petals, these are day lillies. The other are tiger lillies. They have orange petals and are speckled with black spots. They will transplant nicely, and will expand in size every year. You can get them at almost every Walmart.
Reply:I grew up in PA. They are tiger lilies; also known as day lilies.
Reply:Hemerocallis fulva is the botanical name of this plant. This daylily is the best known of all the species. Commonly known as the Tiger Lily, Ditch Lily or Orange Roadside Lily. Hemerocallis fulva is another species introduced into the U.S. centuries ago. Its spreading habit produces large stands and is considered a weed to some.
Reply:It is probably day lilies---they bloom a long time and take very little care. Photo one and take the photo to a garden center.
Reply:Could be poppys
