Flower name?
It's a type of Viola (of which the fragrant Violet, Viola odorata, is a species). Common in gardens and in the wild (in shady woodland mainly), it flowers at this time of year and is one of the prettiest spring flowers. Flowers fade after a week or two and flowering is finished by late spring as violas do NOT like the heat of summer (which is why they grow best in moist, shady woodland).
