Can someone tell me the name of this purple flower?
Petunia
Reply:How big are the flowers?
If they are about 1-2" wide, then I would say you have a Calibrachoa. These are sometimes called mini petunias and come in a variety of colors.

If they are 3-4" or more in width, then I would say you have a Petunia. Again, they are available in a wide variety of colors and recent breeding has given us some really great trailing ones.

Check out the links to compare flowers. Since there are so many varieties of each one, I cannot say for certain which one you have. My guess would be the Surfinia 'Mini Mini Purple' from the surfinia.com link. Also keep in mind that new ones come out every year and the old ones get replaced by them. So, it can be hard to find the exact one if the plant is a few years old.

Reply:You are looking at a petunia. One of the most versatile flowering plants and very hardy. Beautiful in borders or in containers. They also have a very nice fragrance.
