I know that some ethnic names could be a pain. I want to pick out a Ukrainian name for my fourth child but I want your opinions on these:
Boys:
Orest
Bogdan
Mykita
Oleg
Maxim
Dmytro
Dimitri
Danylo
Girls:
Olessia
Laryssa
Oksana
Olya
Roksolana - Roxolana
Tamara
Galina
Kalyna
Kateryna
Lydia - Lida
Taissiya
Valeria
Also for a girl I wanted a flower name for a middle name, I asked in the previous quesiton. Any suggestions welcome.
Ethnic names?
Dimitri
Kateryna
Reply:Maxim Danylo and Kalyna Rose
Reply:Dimitri and Kateryna or Laryssa. Too many of the other names wouldn't be easy for a child to carry in the US (where I'm from, so basing it for a child here).
Reply:Boy - Dimitri
Girl - Lydia Rose - lovely!!
Reply:Mykita and Olessia
is an nice name
Reply:Valeria
=)
Reply:I like Maxim or Dimitri for Boy. Lydia Rose or Valeria Lily for girl.
Reply:Dimitri for a boy and Valeria for a girl are great names. I agree with the person who answered that some of the other names may be difficult since they may be unfamilar with them.
Valeria Fern, Valeria Pearl (not a flower, but a gem, still pretty), Valeria Jasmin are all pretty.
Reply:Maxim and Tamara, or Valeria...for girl I also like Aliona - not sure if its ukrainian or russian
Reply:Dimitri and Maxim for the boys.
Taissiya for the girl.
Reply:The only one i like from the boys is Maxim.
The girls i like all of them really. The best probably being Lydia or Laryssa!
xx :-) xx
Reply:I like the names Laryssa %26amp; Lydia for a girl
Erm Laryssa Rose or Lydia Daisy
Ooh I also like the name Tamara :)
Tamara Rose sounds nice
For a boy I really dont like any of those names, but Danylo is Ok.
:)
Reply:MALE:
Dimitri is a good name...
FEMALE:
Valeria is a wonderful name...
Reply:Hello...I love Dimitri and Maxim!
Girls:
Laryssa and Valeria are beautiful. I gave some nice flower names
Reply:Ethic names are usually always so beautiful!! I LOVE the list of names that you have above.
For boys I like Bogdan and Danylo (Danilo looks better).
For girls I like Olessia, Galina, Lidija (like Lydia, I know that other Eastern European languages treat the 'j' like a 'y', don't know if they do that in Ukrainian though. If they do, "Lidija" may be more ethnic than "Lydia"), and Valeria. Consider spelling Kateryna "Katerina" instead.
I knew a woman named Violetta (almost 100% sure she was Ukrainian) so there's a take on a flower middle name or first name.
Other flower names: Violet, Rose, Dahlia.
Galina Rose has a nice ring to it.
A word of advice: I noticed that all of the girl names end with 'a'. So be careful if you name the girl with two names that end in 'a', for example "Valeria Katerina" or "Tamara Oksana" it could potentially sound awkward or almost rhymey.
Reply:dimitri and kateryna
Reply:Dimitri
Laryssa Rose
Reply:Dimitri Oleg would be really cute!!
How about Kateryna Fern?
Reply:Dimitri and Galina will always have my vote :)
Reply:For the boys, I like Bogdan, Maxim and Dimitri. For the girls, I like Laryssa, Tamara and Valeria (especially Valeria - sounds cute and unique)
A flower name....I've always thought Jasmine was quite pretty...it depends what the first name is I guess, because the names have to go together...
Good luck!
